To commemorate the 60th anniversary of United Nations Peacekeeping, United Nations Information Centre (UNIC) Ankara opened a week long photo exhibit at two universities in Ankara. The exhibit at Atilim University opened on 17 October and the exhibit at Bashkent University opened on 23 October.

The exhibit included photos of Turkish military and police that contribute to UN peacekeeping efforts.

La clausura del Ciclo de Foros "Cascos para la Paz" tuvo lugar el pasado 22 de Octubre en la sede del Ministerio de Relaciones Exteriores. El evento sirvió también para conmemorar el 60 aniversario de las Operaciones de Mantenimiento de la Paz en Colombia. En el transcurso de las tres primeras semanas de octubre, las diez universidades más prestigiosas de Bogota celebraron seminarios sobre diferentes Misiones de Paz, desde Líbano a Haití, desde Timor a El Salvador. 
 
La ceremonia de clausura fue presidida por la Vice Ministra de Asuntos Multilaterales de la Cancillería colombiana y por el Director del CINU Bogota. Asistieron representantes de todas las universidades participantes, de la Academia Diplomática, del Cuerpo Diplomático acreditado en el país así como varios participantes colombianos en Misiones de Paz, tanto civiles como militares y policías. La Academia Diplomática presento también un trabajo de investigación sobre la participación colombiana en Misiones de Paz desde 1948. El CINU Bogota publicara próximamente una compilación conmemorativa de los diferentes trabajos.

The closing ceremony of United Nations Information Centre (UNIC) Bogota's programme "Helmets for Peace" was held on 22 October at the Colombian Ministry of Foreign Affairs. "Helmets for Peace" commemorated the 60th anniversary of United Nations peacekeeping operations. As part of the programme, ten universities in Bogota and the Diplomatic Academy conducted seminars on various peacekeeping missions, including Lebanon, Haiti, East Timor and El Salvador during the first three weeks of October. More than 1 500 people participated in the seminars which were held to raise awareness on peacekeeping issues and the United Nations involvement in peacekeeping.
 
The closing ceremony was presided over by the Vice Minister for Foreign Affairs and the director of UNIC Bogota and was attended by representatives of universities, the diplomatic corps and by several former Colombian civilian, military and police peacekeepers.

To mark the 60th anniversary of UN peacekeeping operations, the UN Information Centre (UNIC) in Tehran in cooperation with the Iranian Association for United Nations Studies (IAUNS) organized a seminar at the Tehran University Club on 16 June 2008. Speakers at this event were the UN Resident Coordinator, the UNIC Director, professors from Tehran University, the president of IAUNS and the former chairman of the UN International Law Commission (ILC). They spoke about the role, significance, theory and practice of UN peacekeeping over the last 60 years. During the seminar UNIC Tehran organized a book and poster exhibition.
