Information Officer Ahmet Parla talks to students at Reha Alemdar High School in Ankara, Turkey during the UN4U presentation

On 14 October 2009, as part of educational outreach activities, and UN4U campaign, the United Nations Information Centre (UNIC) in Ankara visited Reha Alemdar High School in Ankara.

During the visit, Information Officer Ahmet Parla briefed students on the UN activities and priorities. Students were also informed on the Stand Up Against Poverty Campaign and encouraged to participate in the event. The presentation was followed by question and answer session.

Participants of the UNA of Turkey - Youth Section meeting in Ankara

University students gathered to learn more about the United Nations at a special event organized by the United Nations Association (UNA) of Turkey - Youth Section and supported by the United Nations Information Centre (UNIC) in Ankara to recruit new members for the association.  The UNA of Turkey representatives briefed the audience about the United Nations and how UNA of Turkey supports UN activities and priorities in the country.

Several information materials on the United Nations, including posters and brochures on display, a photo exhibit of the United Nations and a video: “United Nations: It’s your world”, were provided by UNIC Ankara.

UNIC Ankara's National Information Officer briefs students at Buyuk Kolej High School

On 4 June 2009, the Information Officer at the United Nations Information Centre (UNIC) in Ankara and a United Nations Children's Fund (UNICEF) representative visited Buyuk Kolej High School and briefed students on the UN and how they can support UN activities such as the Stand Up Against Poverty campaign.

UNIC Ankara's Information Officer with TED Afyon students

On 25 May 2009, in Afyon, a city 278 km southeast of Ankara, the United Nations Information Centre (UNIC) in Ankara organized a conference at TED Afyon Junior High School. UNIC Ankara's Information Officer briefed students on the United Nations, its activities and especially on the Millennium Development Goals.
