Amidst 500 UN staff rose the melodious voice of well-known singer Faakhir, as UN Pakistan celebrated its 62nd anniversary on UN Day. Faakhir is the Goodwill Ambassador for the World Health Organization's anti-tobacco campaign. Farooq Qaiser - alias Uncle Sargam - also joined in the celebrations, entertaining people with his one-of-a-kind humour.
“It is after many years that the UN celebrates its day as one family,” the Resident Coordinator of UN Pakistan told the gathering. “I am honoured that I am part of this historic moment, when we change the way we work for the betterment of the people.”
