On 18 October, several top artists including Wahu and Jah Key Malley hosted an anti-poverty concert with the theme "Artists United Against Poverty." The concert protested the high levels of poverty in Africa and called on leaders to address the rising cost of food. The artists also called on world leaders to campaign against retrogressive trade policies. The Global Call to Action Against Poverty (GCAP) coordinator spoke at the event and called upon citizens and civil society organizations to stand up for their rights and join the global movement against poverty.
In addition, a Stand Up event was held at the UN Complex in Gigiri where over one hundred staff members stood up to be counted.
