Musicians from the Moscow P. Tchaikovsky State Conservatory perform at UN Day commemoration
On 24 October, an event was held at the Zurab Tsereteli Fine Arts Gallery in Moscow to commemorate United Nations Day. 350 people attended the event including top-ranking officials from the Russian Parliament and Government, ambassadors from Member States and international organizations, prominent figures from the cultural and scientific communities and UN staff.
The UN Resident Coordinator and the Foreign Minister addressed the guests and both men spoke of the long-standing partnership between Russia and the United Nations System in Russia.
A classical music concert performed by a group of young and gifted musicians from the Moscow P. Tchaikovsky State Conservatory followed the speeches.
In addition, a photo exhibit displaying the history of the United Nations Information Centre (UNIC) in Moscow as well as the activities of UN agencies in Russia was unveiled.
