UN Population Fund (UNFPA) Executive Director and Under-Secretary-General of the United Nations, Dr. Babatunde Osotimehin, concluded a two-day visit to Panama. In his first visit to the UNFPA Regional Office for Latin America and the Caribbean since his inauguration in January this year, the Executive Director met with the Vice President and Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Panama, Juan Carlos Varela, to acknowledge and thank the Panamanian Government for their support of the various United Nations agencies in the country.
The timing was also an opportunity for the executive Director to visit an exhibition of the various programs / projects undertaken by the UNFPA Country Office in Panama.
The UN Information Centre (UNIC) in Panama provided media support and assisted in UNFPA with the visit.
